3 Act Math

The three act lesson structure, pioneered by Dan Meyer, is designed to get your students excited and invested in a math task or problem.  It uses a Storytelling framework with 3 acts to engage students in the math task. 


In Act 1, you start with a "hook" that introduces an intriguing problem or conflict.  In Act 2, students consider how to overcome obstacles, researching resources and tools, to solve the problem.  In Act 3, the problem or conflict is resolved!
